10 Great Days Out in Cheshire!

Now the Spring is here and the weather is improving, family outings at the weekend are more appealing. The county of Cheshire, with its beautiful soft rolling countryside, has a wealth of places to visit for a fun-filled family day out. Here are a few suggestions:

Chester Zoo –is a great day out for all the family. It is the largest zoo in the UK and has over 20,000 animals of 500 different species including some of the world’s most endangered species http://www.chesterzoo.org/

 Go Ape - this is an award-winning outdoor adventure centre for all the family. It is set in beautiful forests, with 28 exhilarating swings, obstacles and zip wires to move through the tree tops and all-terrain Segways to explore the forest floor. https://goape.co.uk/days-out/delamere

Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate – is a fantastic industrial heritage site which shows how a complete industrial community lived. The cotton mill is powered by Europe's most powerful working waterwheel. Tatton Park this is a great place for a family day out. There are several walking routes to explore the beautiful parkland and look out for red and fallow deer.  The Park's Farm has donkeys, pigs, goats and Lou the Jersey cow! There are also formal gardens and a maze. http://www.tattonpark.org.uk/

Dunham Massey -this beautiful Georgian house set in a deer park is a great place to learn about the previous owners and servants who used to live here. Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre - is a great day out for all the family to explore the wonders of the universe and learn about the workings of the giant Lovell Telescope. http://www.jodrellbank.net/
