To celebrate the start of the summer holidays, we bring you some of the best family days out and fun places to visit Stockport has to offer this summer
Foodie Friday
Last Friday of the month – 6pm-9pm
Stockport Victorian Market Hall & Stockport Market Place
Regular attractions at the event include a selection of street food traders offering cheese, wood fired pizza, a barbecue and cakes, with a craft ale bar, and wine slates. Live entertainment is provided all evening by local musicians and comedians, and to top it off entry to this fun family event is free!
Holiday Fun
Every Tuesday afternoon
Bramall Hall
Bramall Hall is home to loads of great events this August, with historical fun taking place every Tuesday afternoon.
Events cost just 50p and occur weekly from 1:15-4pm. Activities include themes such as “Tudor Builder” “Ballroom Paintings” and “Peek into the Past.”
Summer Sports Camp
4th – 22nd August
Stockport School
The multi sports summer camp has been designed to give children aged 5-13 the chance to try their hand at different sports this summer. The camp aims to help children understand sport whilst building their confidence and character in a sporting environment. Sessions from 8:45am – 4:00pm Monday and costs £19 for the day.
Stockport Art Guild 94th Exhibition
16th August – 7th September
Stockport Art Gallery
The annual exhibition is a judged collection of some of the best artwork produced by its members over the last year. Visitors to the exhibition will be asked to vote for their favourite pieces, and the overall people’s choice will be awarded at the end of the show.
Art in the Park
24th August
Reddish Vale Country Park
Drop in for some arty fun to create your own pictures and you may get the opportunity to see you work displayed in the parks visitor centre. Suitable for 3-112 year olds, this years Art in the Park is inspired by the Romans as they take on mosaic. There’s no need to book just make sure you get to the park for 1pm.
Big Swim/Walk/Run
7th September & 21st September
Life Leisure Grand Central
The Big Stockport Event began on the 26th July with the Big Stockport Swim, with the Big Stockport 10K Walk taking place at Woodbank Park on the 7th September and the Big Stockport 10K run completing the series on 21st September. You can take part in any of the events no matter what your fitness level or just come along for a great day with the family.
